Tina Connolly (she/her) writes fantastical stories for kids, teens, and grown-ups. Some of them are serious and some of them involve flying bananas.
Her novels include the Ironskin trilogy from Tor Books and the Seriously Wicked series from Tor Teen. She has published over 75 stories and poems in venues such as F&SF, Tor.com, Beneath Ceaseless Skies, Uncanny, Highlights, Spider, and many more. A selection of them are collected in On the Eyeball Floor and Other Stories from Fairwood Press.
Her stories and novels have been finalists for the Hugo, Nebula, Norton, Locus, and World Fantasy awards.
Her narrations have appeared in over a hundred audiobooks and podcasts. She co-hosts Escape Pod, which has been nominated for multiple Hugo awards and the Ignyte award. She runs the intermittent Parsec-winning flash fiction podcast Toasted Cake.
She is a graduate of the speculative fiction writing workshop Clarion West and the CSSF Novel Workshop with Kij Johnson. She has taught at the Clarion West Workshop, the CSSF YA Novel Workshop, Portland's Literary Arts, the Cascade Writers Workshop and the Willamette Writers Conference.
She grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, but now lives with her family in Portland, Oregon, in an old house on a hill that came with a dragon in the basement and blackberry vines in the attic. She has two medium-sized children who help her think up the flying banana jokes.
