So I had a good time at WorldCon. I will say it was really smoky, and I am still concerned about the fires raging in Washington (and Oregon, and California, and Alaska, and...) At any rate, sticking to con report, I met a ton of super great people, and, as usual, I am grateful for that. (Thank you to Dale Ivan Smith for the picture of me at my reading with the inestimable Beth Cato. It was super-packed and we had marshmallows. As you do.)

New story! That Seriously Obnoxious Time I Was Stuck at Witch Rimelda’s One Hundredth Birthday Party is a prequel story set in the world of Seriously Wicked. Live at Tor.com!

(And if you need more convincing to read a free story, there's a nice review of it here.)

The SFWA cookbook is now out. I have a recipe in there for (what else?) Toasted Cake.

My first full-length collection is coming from Fairwood Press in Summer 2016. It has no title or cover yet, but you can pre-order it anyway! For an early-bird discount, even!

Portland teens! I'm reading from Seriously Wicked and chatting about reading, writing, etc at the Hillsdale Library in SW Portland on Sept 10 from 4-5. You don't have to be on the Teen Council, just drop in and say hi.
